38th Annual Spillway Classic Trail Run – July 13, 2025
Bonnet Carré Spillway, Norco, Louisiana

The New Orleans Track Club hosted the 38th Annual Spillway Classic Trail Run on Sunday, July 13, welcoming hundreds of runners to the Bonnet Carré Spillway for one of the region’s most anticipated summer events.

Participants took on “The Gauntlet,” a challenging 3-mile off-road course known for its ever-changing terrain. This year’s route lived up to its reputation, featuring muddy stretches, uneven footing, and natural obstacles shaped by recent weather. While the conditions tested endurance and agility, they also brought an extra sense of adventure and camaraderie to the morning.

The race began promptly at 8:00 a.m., with runners of all levels navigating the scenic but demanding path to the finish. The signature final stretch through the mud provided a memorable ending—and a photo opportunity—for participants and spectators alike.

Post-race festivities included refreshments and Louisiana hospitality, with jambalaya, Baker Maid sweets, Chee-Wees, Crescent Crown beer, and Kentwood Springs water available to all finishers. Awards were presented to top overall and age-group finishers during the closing ceremony.

The Spillway Classic once again proved why it remains a fixture of the New Orleans Track Club calendar: a unique combination of competition, community, and the untamed beauty of the Louisiana outdoors.
