With the mighty Mississippi as a backdrop and live music in the air, the 2025 RiverShack Tavern Run (Eastbank edition) brought together runners, walkers, and party-goers for a sunset 2-mile race that felt more like a community celebration than a competition. Hosted at the legendary RiverShack Tavern on River Road, this year's race kicked off the summer series with perfect weather, fast legs, and ice-cold beer.

The Friday evening race started at 6:00 PM sharp, but the party had already begun by then. “Tank & Bill” provided the live soundtrack as participants warmed up and soaked in the laid-back vibes along the riverfront. The short-but-snappy 2-mile course ran along scenic River Road, offering up equal parts effort and enjoyment before funneling everyone back to the Tavern for refreshments and revelry.

Whether you were chasing a personal best or just cruising toward a cold brew, the event delivered that unmistakable New Orleans energy: part race, part block party.

Top Finishers

The lead pack came ready to throw down, with quick times and tight finishes:

  • Male Champion: Alex Miranda — 11:37

  • Female Champion: Lauren Murrill — 12:01

Both athletes showcased speed and consistency, setting the bar for the rest of the RiverShack Run Series.

Racers crossed the finish line and walked straight into a post-run celebration: cold beers, live tunes, and plenty of laughter on the RiverShack’s legendary patio. Series medals were handed out to those completing both Eastbank and Westbank races, and participants had the chance to earn their bragging rights with an optional beer mile for extra fun.

Shirts? Check. Beer? Flowing. Vibes? Immaculate.

The 2025 RiverShack Tavern Run (Eastbank) proved, once again, that the best races are the ones with heart—and a little hops. With a flat fast course, warm community spirit, and just enough buzz to make your legs forget the burn, it was the perfect way to start the summer race season.

Next stop: Westbank. Same energy, different bridge.
