Asics Nimbus is a popular running shoe line known for its emphasis on cushioning and comfort. Here is a comparison between the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 and Nimbus 26:
Asics Gel-Nimbus 25
- Cushioning: The Nimbus 25 features updated GEL technology and FlyteFoam, providing excellent shock absorption and comfort for long-distance runs.
- Upper Material: The upper is typically made from an engineered mesh that offers breathability and a snug fit.
- Drop: Usually has an 8mm heel drop, promoting a natural running gait.
- Weight: Generally weighs slightly more due to the substantial cushioning, but remains relatively lightweight for a max-cushion shoe.
- Durability: Includes AHAR rubber in the outsole for enhanced durability and traction.
Asics Gel-Nimbus 26
- Cushioning Enhancements: The Nimbus 26 may introduce further advancements in cushioning technology, potentially improving the responsiveness and comfort levels compared to the 25.
- Updated Upper Design: Likely features improvements in upper materials for better fit and breathability, plus enhanced comfort.
- Drop: The heel drop remains similar to the 25, allowing for consistent gait support.
- Weight: Might be optimized slightly, aiming to be just as cushioned while possibly reducing weight.
- Outsole Variations: The outsole may have modifications for improved grip and traction on various surfaces.
Summary
The Nimbus 26 may build upon the foundation of the Nimbus 25 with improvements in cushioning, support, and fit. It typically aims to provide an even more comfortable ride for long-distance runners. As always, it is best to try on both models to determine which shoe provides the best fit and comfort for your needs.
Proper Shoe Fit
Get The Right Size!
Improper shoe sizing and shape are the primary cause of ingrown toenails, bunions, corns and hammer toes. Sounds fun, doesn't it? It's not. Shoes that don’t fit your feet correctly can also lead to muscular imbalances in the body, opening the door to foot, knee and hip injuries.
The More You Know..
Most runners get shoes too small for them because they don't take into account these factors:
- When a load is applied to your foot by running, your foot will spread up to half an inch in length. One shoe size is only 1/3 inch.
- If allowed, your foot will splay 15 percent in width under load.
- Your foot is widest at the toes (but most shoes are not).
Tips on sizing
- Do not assume you are the same size as a previous shoe.
- If your feet are slightly different sizes, get your shoes to fit the larger foot.
- Use this shoe sizing chart:
