The HOKA Clifton Pro is HOKA's biggest update to the Clifton franchise since the line debuted. Rather than replacing the Clifton 11, it creates a second branch of the Clifton family: the standard Clifton remains the comfort-focused daily trainer, while the Clifton Pro is designed for runners who want a more energetic, performance-oriented ride for everyday mileage. It launches at $165.

What's New?
The Clifton Pro keeps the familiar Clifton geometry but introduces several major upgrades:
- New PROGLIDE+ supercritical EVA foam for significantly improved energy return.
- A more aggressive MetaRocker to create a smoother, faster roll through each stride.
- Increased outsole rubber for better durability.
- Premium engineered mesh upper with an improved lockdown.
Ride
The biggest difference is the foam.
Previous Clifton models were known for soft cushioning but often lacked responsiveness. The Clifton Pro changes that dramatically. It still absorbs impact extremely well, but now provides noticeable rebound when picking up the pace.
The ride feels:
- Smoother than previous Cliftons.
- More energetic during long runs.
- Stable despite its high stack.
- More efficient from heel strike through toe-off.
This is still not a race shoe, but it's much livelier than any previous Clifton.
Best For
- Daily training
- Long runs
- Recovery runs
- Marathon training
- Easy runs with occasional uptempo segments
Comfort
Comfort is outstanding.
The upper is breathable with a plush heel collar, while the wider platform offers excellent stability. Even with the more responsive midsole, it retains the classic Clifton feel underfoot.
Durability
One of the Clifton Pro's biggest improvements is durability.
The additional outsole rubber should provide noticeably better longevity than earlier Clifton models, while the supercritical foam is designed to maintain its cushioning and rebound over more miles.
Proper Shoe Fit
Get The Right Size!
Improper shoe sizing and shape are the primary cause of ingrown toenails, bunions, corns and hammer toes. Sounds fun, doesn't it? It's not. Shoes that don’t fit your feet correctly can also lead to muscular imbalances in the body, opening the door to foot, knee and hip injuries.
The More You Know..
Most runners get shoes too small for them because they don't take into account these factors:
- When a load is applied to your foot by running, your foot will spread up to half an inch in length. One shoe size is only 1/3 inch.
- If allowed, your foot will splay 15 percent in width under load.
- Your foot is widest at the toes (but most shoes are not).
Tips on sizing
- Do not assume you are the same size as a previous shoe.
- If your feet are slightly different sizes, get your shoes to fit the larger foot.
- Use this shoe sizing chart:
